Group Leader – Francisco Fernandez-Trillo (Paco)
I am the John Evans Fellow of Nanotechnology. I joined the University of Birmingham in April 2013, as part of the Birmingham Fellows program, to develop Biomedical Applications of Nanotechnology. As such, I am jointly appointed between the Schools of Chemistry and the School of Pharmacy. I am the current co-lead of the Chemistry for Healthcare Technologies Theme, an associate member of the Institute of Microbiology and Infection and a member of the operational team of EPSRC’s Centre for Doctoral Training “Sci-Phy-4-Health”.
My research interests lie at the interface between organic chemistry, polymer science and nanotechnology. We aim to develop novel functional (nano)materials that can find biomedical applications.
